Danish Knowledge Centre for Energy Savings in Buildings
New Danish Knowledge Centre for Energy Savings in Buildings was established in 2009 in support of gevenmental goal for the reduction of energy consumption and the increased use of renewable energy sources.
Selecting the optimal system for energy efficient lighting control
The project aims to further the use of energy saving, stable and user-friendly systems for control and regulation of lighting system in offices, schools, institutions etc. The project is carried out in the Daylight Laboratory at SBi, where installation and performance tests for each lighting control system are carried out.
iTekq: Innovation Intelligence Industrial design – a preproject
iTekq is a concept for the centralised integration of technical installations in future offices that develop innovative office environments and intelligent work places by exploiting industrially designed and prefabricated façade-integrated installation elements. The preproject will investigate how a vertically integrated enterprise can be established for the building services sector based on the model for integrated systems for delivery and services.
Demand controlled ventilation systems for energy efficiency and good indoor climate – Equipment and system requirements
The project plans to disseminate technology about demand-controlled ventilation and show its potential for benefiting its users' health, comfort and productivity and with reduced energy bills as a result. It is also an object to focus on new opportunities for doing business for manufacturers, consultants and construction companies
Hybrid learning spaces
The project intends to develop knowledge about how the link between the physical spaces of school and IT can support teaching, as knowledge is lacking of how IT and design of physical spaces interact and how the combination of different options can optimise the learning processes.
Behovsstyret ventilation i Norden
Research project related to EPBD Buildings Platform
EPBD Buildings Platform is an information service provided by the EU to support the implementation of the EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings. The objective is to support the implementation of the Directive by facilitating transfer of information among all involved parties; by supplying input and tools to support the follow-up and evaluation of the EU Commission and the Member States of the effects of the Directive.
Integrating BEAT in BSim
This project aims to facilitate the use of BEAT by integrating it into SBi's building simulation software called BSim. This allows both energy and environmental assessments to be performed in one operation. The integration ensures that future adjustments can be made with regard to the anticipated CEN methods and the associated environmental declaration of building products.
EPI-SoHo. Methods for cost-efficient energy labelling of social housing
A project aiming to improve energy efficiency in the social housing stock within the EU and to contribute to a raising of the housing standard and environmental aspects in general. Based on experience and existing methods and tools that are spin-offs from previous EU projects and national research and development projects, EPI-SoHo focuses on - Developing methods for cost-efficient large-scale energy labelling of a large number buildings - Integrating energy efficiency in the social housing sector's strategic planning - Developing common structures among local authorities, social housing associations and the private sector related to sustainability
Network related to low energy buildings
The establishment of a network to strengthen cooperation on research and development of wide-ranging energy savings and energy improvements in buildings. The network is to timulate development of integrated low-energy solutions for buildings by bringing together different actors such as knowledge institutions, manufacturers of building products, consulting engineers, architects and contractors in research and development projects.
Glass/aluminium facades

SysPAQ – Sensor system for measuring perceived air quality
A project to develop an innovative sensor system for measuring the indoor air quality as it is perceived by humans
Energy calculation
Energy regulations in the two Danish Buildings Regulations in force became much stricter from 1 January 2006. The changes involved i.a. that clients at the time of applying for a building permit must document that a new building complies with the energy frame.
Development of new solar shading systems based on daylight-directing solar control glass lamellas
Project to reduce electricity consumption for cooling and ventilation in buildings with glass facades, it is necessary to use efficient solar shadings. At the same time it is necessary to optimise the utilisation of daylight to meet stricter requirements for a daylight factor of at least 2 % at work places and also to reduce the electricity consumption for artificial lightning.
EPBD Buildings Platform
