6th Nordic Conference in Construction Economics and Organisation
The conference aims to unpack the construction/society nexus and discuss the mutual constitution and transformation of practices of production and consumption of the built environment
Visit the conference website at: http://6nordic.sbi.dk/index.php/SBI/6nordic
The production and consumption of construction goods and services are embedded in a network of institutionalised structures and practices that are increasingly being shaped by the proliferation of new and emerging societal needs and trends. Different concepts and methods such as performance management, user-driven innovation, supply-chain integration and Building Information Modelling have been introduced to develop the sector and address the challenges that arise from these new perspectives.
What are the consequences for the existing modes of procurement, management, regulation and governance in and of the construction sector, and how are traditional practices, roles and responsibilities transformed as a result?
Themes and tracks
We invite papers that explore and theorise on the implications of the new challenges facing construction economics and organisation. Topics include, but are not limited to:
(a) Transforming practices of construction – rethinking roles and responsibilities
(b) Consuming constructions – user-oriented design methodologies
(c) The co-construction of users and producers – clients and users as drivers of innovation
(d) Construction in society – gluing sector governance and project practices together
(e) Challenging theories – the role of research under changing societal conditions
Participants
The conference welcomes researchers, post-graduate students, policy makers and practitioners from both private and public sector primarily from the Nordic countries.
